Camping 360 degrees people with innovative ideas Dethleffs always find open doors. Including four students the "Higher Technical Training and Research Institute" (HTL) from the Austrian Ferlach as she approached with her idea for a new motor home to the company. They wondered: "Why do you always choose between caravans and camper?" And developed in collaboration with a symbiosis of Dethleffs motorhome and caravan.
aim of the project was to develop both technical and aesthetic and practical ideas. The result sets a new course in the field of mobile living, and was already at the Austrian federal competition "Jugend Innovation" awarded the first prize in the Design category.
The new concept is a compact car with trailer, which has a rigid electromagnetic coupling, the driving characteristics of a motorhome. It is a flat-diesel engine that is in the raised floor of the trailer "pushed". In an uncoupled condition, the car reached its electric motor to nearby attractions, making it an environmentally friendly solution.
The specification, maximum 6 meters in length and suitable for 4 people, had achieved only through a complete change of the spatial concept. Beds are stored in drawers in the living room and pulled out when needed, a kind Hartschlalenkuppel provides for the "roof over your head."
Inside the study, a bathroom with a full-scale 800 mm in shower, double pull-in closet and a kitchen in an L shape. Hot water is produced by the roof-mounted solar system. The range runs on gas.
The project name "Camping 360 degrees" is caused by a view from above of the study. If the awning is extended and fully open the pull-out beds can be - seen from above - a nearly circular plan identified. Therefore, the vehicle was the name of 2 pi, the mathematical expression that describes the unit circle with 360 degrees.
